ICC Mailing List
Introduction
Indonesia Canadian Congress provides mailing lists as a medium to publish and communicate ICC programs to its members. It also can be used as a medium to communicate between ICC members.
In general, using mailing list instead of regular email to communicate has some advantages, such as:
- Only need to remember one email address.
- All emails are archived.
- Better control.
As any other things, it has also some disadvantages such as easier to spread virus, spam, etc. Because of that, only members of the mailing list is allowed to send the email.
Type of Mailing List
ICC maintains three mailing lists:
- ICC Member mailing list
This is a mailing list for ICC members only. Approval by list administrator is required to join. - ICC Board mailing list
This is an invitation only mailing list and is used as a communication media for ICC board of directors
. - General Community mailing list
This is an open mailing list and intended as medium to communicate between the community.
ICC Member Mailing List
When using this mailing list, please note/adhere to the following
guidelines:
- ICC mailing list is created to help the communication of activities being
planned by ICC board to its members. - ICC mailing list is also created to help other members to talk to each
other and discuss an issue together. - ICC mailing list allows people to post their personal/individual posting
requesting or soliciting help from other members, or providing opinion to
other members. - ICC mailing list allows announcement from a government body to be
distributed to its members via mailing list. - Any other posting from a different organization / company has to be sent
to the following email: contact@indonesiacanada.org to obtain approval and
cannot be distributed to all members directly. This is necessary to avoid
downgrading our organization’s name and having recipients of our email
labeling our mailing list as SPAM emails.
Subscribing
To subscribe to the mailing list, you can do one of the following methods:
- By using our mailing list subscriber form.
- By using our contact page, and selecting the box Add my email to ICC mailing list.
- By sending an email to icc-member-subscribe@indonesiacanada.org with subject Subscribe.
- By visiting the mailing list web interface.
That interface can also be used to manage your subscription to the list, such as unsubscribe, etc.
Sending Message
For member of the mailing list, to send message to the mailing list, send it to the address icc-member@indonesiacanada.org.
For non member who want to inform ICC members about the activity, send it to contact@indonesiacanada.org.
Filtering Your Email
The subscribers of the mailing list will get an email when other members of the list post a message to the list. To better manage your email, the email sent to the mailing list subscribers will have a subject line begins with the word [icc-member], which can be used to filter the email.
Please note that the email addresses used for the mailing list will not be used for any other purposes other than for communication only.

General Community Mailing List
Subscribing
To subscribe to this mailing list, you can do one of the following methods:
- By sending an email to indottawa-subscribe@indonesiacanada.org with subject Subscribe.
- By visiting the mailing list web interface.
That interface can also be used to manage your subscription to the list, such as unsubscribe, etc.
Sending Message
To send message to the General Community mailing list, send it to the address indottawa@indonesiacanada.org.
