Donation to Khalid Ali

Thank you all for your support and generousity, the ICC coordinated donation of $500 from 15 donators has been credited to Khalid Ali account in TD Bank.

We hope the donation can be beneficial in some way both for the recipient and us to build better understanding and each other support.

Help sought for family of fire victim

The community is coming together to help the survivors of a Monday-night fire that claimed the life of two-year-old Khalid Ali.

The fire destroyed Unit 90 of 1500 Caldwell Ave., where the boy lived with his mother, father and six siblings.

Cash and cheques _ made out to Carlington Community and Health Services _ may be dropped off or mailed to 900 Merivale Rd., Ottawa, Ont., K1Z 5Z8.

Clothing for the family can be dropped off at The Stronghold, Unit 102, 1465 Caldwell Ave. until 4 p.m. or at 900 Merivale Rd. until 8 p.m. tonight and all day tomorrow.

Furniture donations are being co-ordinated through Sister Lorena at the Family House. Please call 613-728-1268 to make arrangements.

A bank account for the family will be set up today. Donations can also be arranged through the Somali centre at 613-526-2075.

A funeral was held this morning for Khalid.
