May is Asian Heritage Month

Asian Heritage Month (AHM) provides an opportunity for all Canadians to experience many unique aspects of Asian culture and showcases the history and contributions of Asian Canadians. In the National Capital Region, AHM 2007 opens with The 5th Annual Gala Concert on April 28 at the Canadian Museum of Civilization. Throughout May, there will be dozens of events including dance, music, films, exhibitions, literary readings, seminars, cooking demonstrations and much, much, more!
About Asian Heritage Month
In December 2001. the Senate adopted a motion by Senator Vivienne Poy and proclaimed May as Asian Heritage Month, In July 2004, the non-profit, all-volunteer. Ottawa Asian Heritage Month Society (OAHMS) was established to organize and co-ordinateAHM within the National Capital Region.
